Ethnic theatre is a vast topic, much like theatre is itself. In summary ethnic theatre is a cultural aspect of theatre. It is the traditions of the native Americans, the African American, Hispanic, and European American traditions. This gave the "new American- born generation" sense of understanding. It was a way for people to see culture, and a lot of different representations of it, and understand it. It prospered when immigrants came over and incorporated it in their plays. Like most good things, there was a brief decline of immigrant theaters, but it later grew again.
